Electrify Curtin Launch

Join us for the launch of Electrify Curtin and learn the what, why and how of home energy efficiency and electrification. Hear from guest speakers, explore our new website and chat to our knowledgeable volunteers over drinks and nibbles.

Electrify Curtin is a volunteer campaign and website to help you efficiently electrify your own home. Our website has useful information about rooftop solar, home batteries, switching your gas appliances to electric, and improving your energy efficiency. Our volunteers have upgraded their own homes and are ready to share their expertise and experience with you.

Electrification and energy efficiency can reduce energy bills, improve home comfort and indoor air quality, and reduce your carbon emissions. It’s a win for your wallet, your health, and the climate!

The venue is close to bus stops for Route 990 on Scarborough Beach Rd. We would encourage you to catch the bus if you can.

Good Infill Forum

Good Infill Forum

Kate Chaney, Independent Member for Curtin, is hosting a Good Infill Forum. This forum builds on last year’s Housing Forums. Kate hopes the Good Infill Forum will broaden the conversation beyond simply pro and anti-development to explore how infill can be done well and in a way to enhance communities and address future challenges.

The globally recognised, Professor Peter Newman will speak on why we need good infill. Professor Josh Byrne, environmental scientist, landscape designer and ABC TV Gardening Australia presenter, will address how medium density infill and nature can co-exist. Kellie McGivern, design manager at property developer, Hesperia, will address what are features of good infill that we can see at Project level in and around Curtin.
